This 100% cotton char cloth will catch a spark at any spot on its surface that I’ve made from 9-ounce weight bull denim. Use this to ignite a birds like nest made of dry natural materials. As an example, this char material can get so hot that I was able to ignite cardboard that was separated some using several pieces of char and blowing air onto it.
One can ignite a nest of separated natural rope fibers with ½ piece of char, thus giving the user enough cloth to make 30 fires in good weather conditions. One of the easiest nests to ignite is separated natural jute twine since it is made up of very fine angel-like hair.
Sisal, manila, and jute ropes make a good nest. Also dried grasses, sagebrush, and cedar bark as an example make good nests with charred cloth in its center.
