One hardened steel striker 3-1/2" inches in length (I consider this a 4 finger striker) with 1 extra large English flint. Flint will be approximately 4" to 4-1/2" in length.
I consider the English flint as the best in the world for flint and steel firestarting.
Flint rock shown in picture is 4" in length.
The English flint sizes vary, but the sizes offered here will be between 4" and 4-1/2" long. All steels are tested before shipping.
To resharpen the flint one can tap the edges lightly using a small tack hammer with the flint resting on a flat hard surface. Flint and steel sets work best with very sharp flint.

Due to the smaller opening on this plain steel design, the included flint cannot be sharpened using the striker itself. The kit still functions perfectly for fire starting, but sharpening must be done separately if needed.
